Yes. An e-registered leave & license agreement is fully valid and accepted by banks, passport office, police verification, societies and for official purposes.
3. How long does it take to complete the rent agreement process?
If all documents are correct, the drafting and biometric process usually completes within 24–48 hours. Government approval may take another 1–3 working days.
4. Do I need to visit any office for rent agreement?
No. Most of the process is done online. Only biometric verification is required, which can be done at your doorstep or at the nearest biometric center, depending on availability.
5. What documents are required for a rent agreement?
Normally, the following documents are needed:
- Aadhaar card of owner and tenant
- PAN card of owner and tenant
- Property address proof (light bill / index / tax receipt etc.)
- 2 witness Aadhaar card and Pan card
- Rent amount, deposit amount and agreement duration details
6. Who has to be present for biometric?
Usually, the owner and tenant both must complete biometric verification. In some cases, representatives with power of attorney may be allowed as per rules.
7. For how many months can I make a rent agreement?
Most rent agreements are made for 11 months, but you can also make it for longer periods like 24, 36 months or more, as per mutual understanding and government rules.
8. How is stamp duty and registration fee calculated?
Stamp duty and registration fees are calculated based on:
